The Brahma UV1 is a UV phototube flame sensor that detects the ultraviolet light (190–290 nm) emitted by a burning flame and generates an ionization-based electrical signal used by ignition and burner control devices, such as a flame relay module, to confirm flame presence. Housed in a compact ø22mm nylon body with a 655mm integral cable and a mounting nut for a 1/2" sighting pipe, it is rated for -20°C to 50°C ambient operation with a nominal service life of 10,000 hours before the phototube should be replaced. Manufactured by Brahma, Italy, it is suited to gas and mixed-fuel (gas and oil) burner flame supervision, and pairs with flame relay control units such as the Brahma RE3.
